Hanoi [Vietnam], September 6: The consecutive breakthroughs from singer Jack's products have ended Phuong My Chi's three-week reign at the top of the charts with 'Heaven with My Lover'.
The showdown between Jack and Phuong My Chi
With the "Folk Music Enthusiasts" project , Phuong My Chi and the DTAP production team continue to be faithful to the musical direction that made her famous: combining traditional and folk cultural values into a modern musical space. The breakthrough this time lies in the 2003-born singer expanding her exploration to include the distinctive culture of the Southern region of Vietnam. A prime example is the music video " Heaven with My Lover ," a product that recreates a unique Khmer cultural space.
Data from the YouTube Music Chart shows that, before relinquishing the top spot, the song had accumulated over 22 million views, along with more than 270,000 likes and tens of thousands of comments on YouTube, and was approaching the 1.5 million listen mark on Spotify.
Conversely, Jack chose to make a comeback with the album "Tam Thai Tu" (Three Princes) . This time, the singer boldly expanded his musical horizons by experimenting with new genres, while retaining his natural pronunciation and distinctive vocal style. To maximize his visual appeal, Jack simultaneously released several well-produced music videos such as " Hoa Trong Da" (Flower in Stone ) and "Neu Phai Giu Cho Em" (If I Have to Keep You) , creating a multi-faceted media boost across digital platforms.
After 21 consecutive days at the top of YouTube's trending chart, Phuong My Chi's music video has started to cool down and is falling behind the strong growth of Jack's new songs.
Initially, the music video for "Hoa trong đa" (Flower in Stone) had a very impressive debut, reaching the top spot just half a day after its release. However, the biggest surprise came from the two songs released as audio tracks from the same album: " Lưu nien" (Memories) and "Người dưng" (Stranger ). To date, these two songs have respectively reached the number 1 and 2 positions on Vietnam's trending list on YouTube. This surge has pushed Phương Mỹ Chi's music video down to number 3.
Nevertheless, considering overall rankings based on listening/viewing volume such as the Top 100 Videos and Top 100 Songs in Vietnam on YouTube Charts, Phuong My Chi's products still maintain extremely stable rankings thanks to her enduring mass audience.
However, observers note that Jack's record-breaking speed in this comeback has somewhat diminished the appeal compared to his peak period (when music videos like " Song gio" and "Hoa hải đường" easily reached 10 million views in just 24 hours). Recent events and public opinion have somewhat reduced public curiosity, making new products largely dependent on the view-boosting efforts of the fan community.
