Hanoi [Vietnam], March 15: Thùy Anh revealed that she went through a period of psychological crisis, forcing her to temporarily suspend her artistic activities for more than half a year. After all, the actress considers this a valuable lesson, from which she has become more mature and insightful in both acting and life.

Recently, actress Thùy Anh has attracted attention for her role in the project " Because My Mother Decided We Should Break Up." The actress said this is a role she cherishes after going through a major life event . In the film, she plays Hoan Mỹ, a girl with a complex psychology, many traumas, and who has experienced many ups and downs. This is also the type of character Thùy Anh has always wanted to challenge herself with.
"I felt a connection with the character because I myself went through a difficult period. These personal experiences helped me understand Hoan My's emotions, allowing me to portray her personality and inner feelings effectively. Previously, filming crying scenes was stressful for me, but with this role, the emotions came instinctively. I didn't have to force it; the tears just flowed naturally. With this role, I think I did my best for the character," she shared.
The incident the actress from the 90s generation referred to was the 2024 controversy with a film producer that led to her being removed from a role and being asked to pay 20 billion VND in compensation. Thùy Anh called it "the biggest event" in her life. Although she doesn't want to dwell on it too much, she admits that that period left her devastated both mentally and physically.
The actress from the film "Us of Eight Years Later" revealed that she spent over seven months almost completely unemployed and lost faith in many things. "When the incident happened, people were quite hesitant to invite me to collaborate. No one wanted to risk their projects at that time, and I myself wasn't mentally strong enough to go back to work. During that period, I felt everything was unfair to me. I cried almost every day, experienced prolonged stress, and had to take medication for months. At times, I felt like I was just existing, not truly living," she said.
According to Thuy Anh , the incident not only affected her mental state but also significantly impacted her reputation and career opportunities. During the most difficult period, the actress didn't share with her family for fear of worrying her parents. Although friends were there to encourage her, deep down she still felt alone. Thuy Anh confided: "It was a problem I had to solve myself. I often wondered why I had to go through this. But after all, I'm secretly grateful for what happened. I believe everything is a lesson. Thanks to it, I've matured in both my work and my life. If that incident hadn't happened, I probably would still be naive."
Ready for marriage
After more than 15 years in the profession, Thùy Anh still likens herself to "a child learning to swim." Recalling her early days moving from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City to start her career, she said she only brought 20 million VND with her, struggled to find accommodation, and sought out every small opportunity to stay in the profession. The actress shared that she diligently seized every small opportunity, and from those small opportunities, other doors opened. Now that her life is more stable, Thùy Anh has never dared to consider herself wealthy. What she believes in most after all the setbacks and efforts is not money, but kindness. For the actress from "Wings in the Air," if you live a kind life, kindness will come to you.
Looking ahead, Thùy Anh affirms that her biggest ambition remains acting. She hopes to challenge herself with roles that are deep, psychologically complex, and unpredictable. The actress expressed her hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with directors like Victor Vũ and Trấn Thanh, or to continue working on Lý Hải's projects with longer roles to have more room to showcase her talent.
Regarding her personal life, Thùy Anh laughed when mentioning the 30-year-old milestone she had set for marriage but hadn't yet achieved. "I really want to get married. In fact, wherever I go, I jokingly say I'm about to get married, like sending a signal to the universe, but it still hasn't happened. It's not that I don't want to, it's just that I guess I have to wait for the right person to appear," she expressed.
When sharing about her ideal partner, the actress said that after many years of independence, she has changed her thinking and how she chooses a life partner. Thuy Anh confided: "Back in my twenties, I was naive and thought anything would do, but now that I'm over 30, my thinking is quite different. Currently, I have my own life, I earn my own money and take care of myself, so the man beside me must give me a feeling of being protected, of being a 'baby' a little bit. I hope that person makes me feel small again, without having to struggle so hard anymore. For me, appearance is not as important as feelings. What keeps me in a relationship is respect. I believe that someone who respects me will know how to love and make me happy."
